Lip Tips
The key to long-lasting lip color is to start with a clean and hydrated slate.
First, exfoliate your lips with a simple DIY scrub – I love the combination of one teaspoon honey with two teaspoons of sugar. Massage onto lips, let sit for a few minutes, and wipe off with a damp washcloth. Next, line the lips and fill with a lipstick or gloss.
Contrary to what you may think, there is a shade of red lipstick for every complexion. Some of the most universally flattering shades are M.A.C’s Ruby Woo or Jungle Matte by NARS.
If you’re still weary of rocking the red, a neutral gloss like VMV Hypoallergenic’s Subtle Shine Lipstick or their Lip Gloss in “Giggle.”
Eye Catching
Winged eyeliner, or “cat eye,” is a great way to add some drama. Start by using an under-eye concealer such as VMV Hypoallergenic’s Skin the Bluff Concealer which can be mixed with moisturizer to customize the perfect amount of coverage. Dab some on your eyelid and set with a finishing powder. Now here’s the most important tip for this look – start at the outside of the eye and work your way in. You can lightly trace the line and then fill it in to your desired thickness. Dab a little highlighter on the inside of the eye (where it meets the bridge of your nose) and mascara and you did it!
Glow Time
With a strong lip and eye, a simple pop of glow on your cheeks is all you need. Dust on the apples of your cheeks and you’re good to go.
