Dr. Shayan Cheraghlou, MD, FAAD


Dr. Shayan Cheraghlou, MD, FAAD is double board-certified Mohs surgeon, medical and cosmetic dermatologist, and facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon. 


Dr. Shayan Cheraghlou, MD, FAAD, is a double board-certified Mohs surgeon, medical and cosmetic dermatologist, and facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon. Dr. Cheraghlou graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania before receiving his MD from the Yale School of Medicine, graduating with the Miriam Kathleen Dasey graduation award. He went on to complete his dermatology training at the Ronald O Perelman Department of Dermatology at NYU, serving as chief resident and graduating with the Lipkin award for clinical and scholarly excellence, and the Husik award for best research. He then completed his fellowship training at Zitelli & Brodland Skin Cancer Center, the top Mohs micrographic fellowship in the country.

Dr.Cheraghlou is one of only a handful of physicians in the world who is trained in dermatology with fellowship certification in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, allowing him to provide the best possible cosmetic outcomes for his patients. He is an acclaimed expert who has authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications and his work has been cited over 1000 times in the academic literature, including in multiple national treatment guidelines, clinical resource tools, physician educational materials, and news media. He is also a frequently quoted specialist in national publications including Time Magazine, CBS, CNN, and Women’s Health. Dr.

Cheraghlou has served on committees for several national physician organizations including a 2-year term shaping national treatment guidelines on the American Academy of Dermatology’s Clinical Guidelines Committee. A native of Toronto, he was selected as an individual of extraordinary ability based on sustained national acclaim of his work by the US government, earning his US residency.
