chemical peels

Chemical peels are effective options for patients looking to achieve skin rejuvenation on the face, neck or hands. During a chemical peel an acid solution is used to remove the damaged outer layers of the skin – we use alpha hydroxy acids (AHA), trichloroacetic acid (TCA), or combination peels based on your skin concerns and conditions. The treatment exfoliates the outer layers of dead skin, revealing a new skin layer with improved tone, texture, and color.

Common concerns that are addressed:

  • Acne

  • Wrinkles

  • Uneven pigmentation (melasma, age spots, sun damage)

  • Dull skin

  • Uneven skin tone and texture

  • Appearance of scars

  • Skin laxity

Depending on the type of treatment, recovery time can range from 1-7 days. All peels require some at-home care after the procedure. You should moisturize as directed to keep your skin hydrated. After the peel, your skin will be red. After the redness subsides it is normal for peeling to occur and last up to one week.
