Modern Dermatology is pleased to offer a variety of aesthetician services, which can be excellent stand-alone treatments or complements to other cosmetic and medical treatments. Suzanne Wilson-Picone is a Licensed Aesthetician in both Connecticut and California with over two decades of experience in Medical, Spa and Private Practice.

FACIALS

All facials include: Skin Analysis, Double Cleanse, Exfoliation, Extractions, Customized Mask, Corrective Serum, Hydration, Sun Protection, Eye Cream & Lip Balm.

• Modern Mini: Just the basics. Note: Does not include extractions.

• Teen Clean Facial: A full facial that is designed to introduce teens to the basics of skin care.

• MD Signature Facial: Customized to address all skin types and conditions:

•     Purifying - oily, acneic skin

•     Rejuvenating - dry, dehydrated, post-peel

•     Calming - sensitive/sensitized

• MD European Facial: A customized facial, plus massage of the upper back/neck/décolleté, arms/hands & feet.

• Acne Facial: A customized facial for acne affected skin, includes: deep cleaning, exfoliation, mask, chemical peel and extensive extractions.

• Epicuren Facial: Vegan, “Hot Peel,” and “Skin Quench” Hydrating Facials.

• HydraFacial: HydraFacial uses patented Vortex-Fusion® technology to cleanse, extract and hydrate. That is achieved through the following stages of the treatment:

  • Cleansing and exfoliation: a gentle lactic acid serum gets rid of dirt and dead skin cells, leaving skin smoother and brighter

  • Brightening agent: a gentle blend of salicylic and glycolic acid further exfoliates the skin and unclogs the pores, prepping skin for the next stage

  • Extraction: gentle suction removes blackheads 

  • Hydration: a curated cocktail of hyaluronic acid, peptides and antioxidants provides hydration and “plumps up” the skin

  • Rejuvenation: red and infrared LED light reduces redness and boosts the production of collagen

CORRECTIVE CHEMICAL PEELS 

Chemical peels are effective options for patients looking to achieve skin rejuvenation on the face, neck or hands. The treatment exfoliates the outer layers of dead skin, revealing a new skin layer with improved tone, texture, and color. 

• PCA Skin Peels address every skin type and condition and includes a Post-Procedure Kit for best results. Peels target challenging skin concerns all over the body including: Hyperpigmentation, Melasma, Photodamage. Aging, Acne, Sensitive Skin, Rosacea, and Keratosis Pilaris. Our PCA Peels include:

  • Pigment Corrective Peel - targeting hyperpigmentation.

  • Sensi Peel - All skin types including sensitive skin.

  • Ultra Peel I - Mature Skin.

  • PCA “No Peel” Peel - This is an “entry-level” peel treatment for all skin types, including sensitive skin — it contains Lactic Acid, AHAs & BHA's.

• SkinCeuticals Micro Peel Sensitive Solution is a Glycolic, Lactic Acid & Phytic acid peel that gently exfoliates and improves radiance with no down time or irritation. This peel can also be used to treat rosacea and is suited for Combination Skin, Hyperpigmented & Sun-Damaged Skin, Normal Skin, Oily Skin, Sensitive Skin and Dry Skin.

Depending on the type of treatment, recovery time can range from 1-7 days. All peels require some at-home care after the procedure. You should moisturize as directed to keep your skin hydrated. After the peel, your skin may be red or flushed. After the redness subsides it is normal for peeling to occur and last up to one week.

WAXING

Imported from Australia, Lycon Precision Wax is extra gentle and very effective. Formulated with the finest natural resins, pure beeswax and aromatherapy, our Lycon waxing treatments come with conditioning lotions both pre & post treatment for extra comfort.

• Facial Waxing - Lycon Lycotec White Strip Wax XXX is formulated with titanum dioxide, micro mica, coconut oil and vanilla. It is well-suited for all facial waxing services and is vegan friendly. We offer eyebrow shaping and clean-up along with waxing of the lip, chin, cheeks or full face.

• Body Waxing - Lycon Rosette Hard Wax is an ultra calming wax for sensitive skin and is formulated with rose, chamomile and titanium dioxide. We use this wax for sensitive areas of the body such as the bikini area & underarms. For larger areas of the body, such as the arms & legs, an Ultra Sensitive Zinc Oxide Wax is formulated to protect the skin from irritation.

Suzanne Wilson-Picone is a Licensed Aesthetician in both Connecticut and California with over two decades of experience in Medical, Spa and Private Practice. After obtaining her Esthetician License in Los Angeles, Suzanne did post-graduate training at the International Dermal Institute in both Los Angeles and New York. She has continued to seek out training to offer her patients the best experience and holds certifications in: Dermaplaning, HydraFacial, Chemical Peels, Eastern Diagnosis, Face Mapping, and Gua Sha Facial Massage. She is also a member of the Association for Skin Care Professionals and the Connecticut Coalition of Esthetics & Nails.
